Saving Money with Your Credit Cards pt 2

creditmon2Continued from part 1...

Another type of credit card that you can use to save money is one that offers frequent flyer miles or air fare rewards. Airfare is expensive, and if you fly relatively frequently then you are probably well aware of how expensive it can be to fly. One of the best possible ways that you can protect your budget, while earning rewards simultaneously, is to do a little bit of research into the concept of airline reward credit cards. These airline credit cards are capable of offering you numerous advantages, including the following:

  • You are going to be able to earn points or miles that you will be able to turn around and exchange for free air fare and flights. This is an outstanding way for you to be able to save up for an upcoming vacation. Simply trade those miles in and then spend your vacation money on something else.
  • Some airline credit cards will offer you additional free miles as part of a sign up bonus, meaning that you are literally going to start out ahead of the miles game before you have ever eve used the card.
  • If you are a frequent flyer and you use several different airline companies, there are actually cards out there that are capable of letting you transfer the miles you earn to any airline that they have partnered up with. Make sure that you know what airlines a card is partnered with before you apply or sign up.

So what is the best way to save your money using such a credit card?

  • You are going to want to sign up with an airline mile credit card that offers a nice collection of starting points or starting miles.
  • You are going to want to make sure that you are earning points for the airlines that you typically use when you are traveling.
  • You are going to want to shop for the lowest possible price for the flights you are interested in taking.
  • You are going to want to use your card when you book your tickets so that you can collect miles when you redeem miles.
  • You are going to want to make sure that you are paying your bill every month on time so that you can make sure that you are avoiding interest charges as well as enjoying all of the free flights that you end up earning in the process.

If you are a savvy credit card user, you can use your air miles to get a variety of different airline tickets for free when taking your family on vacation. Travel reward credit cards can also help to earn you free hotel stays as well as free airfare.
